My painting is about trying to capture the essence of something beautiful on the canvas. The beauty of nature, captured plein air or in a photograph, creates endless inspiration for my work.
I moved to Benicia in 2013 after a rewarding career at University of the Pacific. I became a regular visitor to Benicia's galleries and joined Arts Benicia in 2017 where I am currently Development Manager. Through these connections I have met dozens of amazing and talented artists. This friendly and supportive artist community has been the reason for my development as an artist, for which I'm very grateful.
Special thanks for walking with me on this journey: Celeste Smeland, Mary Parkerson, Jerry Turner, Angela White, and Carol Tarzier. I am what you have helped me become.
I enjoy exploring with acrylic and ceramics, but I paint mainly in oils. You can see my work at Gallery 621 920 1st Street, Suite 203, Benicia.
